Challenge
The task was to refresh the historic Blumenthal beer brand, established in 1866 in Kaunas and operated by a Swiss family, and to create a new vintage-style beer line that would align with its historical heritage.
Solution
We used the brewery’s original name — Blumenthal — emphasizing that the beer is brewed according to an 1866 recipe and made from natural ingredients. We made the standard bottle shapes distinctive and stylish using paper labels alone: we designed two labels — one for the light beer and one for the dark beer — adapted to three different bottle sizes. We rounded out the concept with a wooden box featuring a hand-painted logo, intended for delivery and gifting.
Results
The renewed Blumenthal brand and packaging design achieved an authentic, old-world beer aesthetic, stood out on store shelves, and strongly reinforced the historical heritage narrative. The wooden logo box became an excellent presentation element, while the minimalist yet distinctive labels helped position the beer as a premium, distinctive product.
