
Challenge
VOLFAS ENGELMAN, one of the largest breweries in Lithuania, responded to the growth of the craft beer market by launching a small brewery and a new sub-brand, Alaus Laiškai, in 2016. After several years of collaboration with another agency, they chose us to create the visual identity for their limited-edition beer releases.
Solution
To stand out from traditional craft beer design, we developed bold and unconventional visual solutions. The Barley Wine label was inspired by the fusion of wine and beer, appealing to seasoned beer enthusiasts. The Baltic Porter reflects the history of the 18th-century Baltic Sea region, combining elegance and strength, while the label tells the story behind the style. The central character across the designs is an elegant gentleman wearing a top hat, symbolizing sophistication and the spirit of VOLFAS ENGELMAN.
Results
The labels clearly stand out both within the main beer portfolio and within the craft category, distinguished by originality, storytelling, and strong historical character.
