Challenge
VOLFAS ENGELMAN is one of the oldest and most popular breweries in Lithuania. After World War II, the brand name was banned for many years and revived only in 2011. In a short time, the restored brand once again became one of the most recognizable beer brands in Lithuania. However, its long-standing visual recognition posed a challenge — even minor graphic changes risked negative consumer reactions.
Solution
The core visual structure was preserved. It was decided not to change the main emblem shapes or composition so consumers could instantly recognize the familiar design. Simplified illustrations were created by refining the previously detailed, engraved decorations — retaining key historical elements while removing excess details that could interfere with a modern aesthetic.
Results
The successful refresh helped the brand remain relevant while preserving familiarity. Sales stayed stable and even showed slight growth among consumers who value authenticity and long-standing brewing traditions. The VOLFAS ENGELMAN image was strengthened as a brand that successfully combines heritage with contemporary design.
